Growing Up
|
| I grew up between Minneapolis and St. Paul in the sleepy hamlet of Lauderdale, then later in Roseville. I graduated high school in 1971, joined the Navy the following spring and served two combat tours in Vietnam onboard the USS Pyro AE-24 and the USS Hoel DDG-13, before returning to civilian life. |

Kent's Family Life
I met my wife, Kelli, in 1990 through my work with HUD, and we were married the following year and settled in Blaine.
We have affectionately named our "farm", "The K & K Ranch". It is conveniently located just ten miles from my RE/MAX ® office.
The homestead is a 100 year old farm house which we are enjoying remodeling, (well, I am enjoying the remodeling anyway!).
In our spare time we enjoy gardening and raising a small herd of Belted Galloway cattle along with a few chickens and turkeys. |
Pete Dawg We wanted to move to a more rural setting but wanted to stay close to downtown and in 1996 we found our little piece of heaven. We moved to a picturesque, 10 acre hobby farm in Andover with our, "he thinks he's a person" Lab, named Pete.

And Baby Makes Three
Recently our lives changed forever when we completed the adoption our daughter, Krystal, from China. We were able to return with her in December 2000. We are enjoying this new part of our lives and happily accept the challenges and responsibilities of raising Krystal. Kelli has become a stay at home mom and still works as part of Kent's team as the office file manager and IT specialist for the web site.

Hobbies
If you live on a farm, you have to have cows, right? When we started we didn't even know the difference betweeen a cow and a heifer. We found the perfect breed, and now enjoy raising and showing Belted Galloway Cattle, which seem to turn heads wherever they go. |

When we do have spare time we enjoy flying. We used to own an airplane (Boy was that expensive!) So now we just rent.
There isn't much time these days but golfing is great fun and a humbling experience nearly every time out. My best round ever was an 81, but these days breaking 100 makes me happy.

My other hobby is a bit unique, and lots of fun. I am attempting to have my picture taken in each and every Minnesota city, all 2653 of them. I've been at it for over ten years already. It is a great way to meet people, study Minnesota history and go camping all over the state. So far I've been to over 1600 cities.
